The People

I was fortunate to be able to attend this year's Junk Bonanza in Shakopee MN. As usual Ki Nassauer put on a great show. Lots of junk and magazine celebs showed up and I got to meet them all.

Above it Ki Nassauer, the Junk Queen and organizer of the Junk Bonanza

Seen along with Heather Bullard are (Left to Right)Nancy Soriano, former editor of Country Living , Jo Packham of Where Women Create and Serena of The Farm Chicks.

Matthew Mead and Linda MacDonald in the gray with her back to you on the right

Along with Junk Celebs were helpers and vendors galore

Above are Ki with her Sister Karla and her daughter Taylor, both flew in to help.

Kathie was in charge of Hospitality, She picked up out of towners from the airport several times, and returned them later. And organized at least 2 parties and one dinner. I'm sure there were lots of other things she was in charge of. She was the perfect choice as hospitality chief

The Red Shed Girls, Valorie and Michelle flew in for a couple of days of shopping and scouting for next year's group trip

Vendors Lanette of Cottage Elements, and Gretchen of Mimi-Toria's

Amy of Whisperwood Cottage brought me a great t-shirt

2nd from left is Cammie from Dafadowndilly's, and next to me is Jane of O' Mustard Moon. The other 2 ladies are Jane's helpers. I'm on the far Right

Ki's assistant Emily is seen here in the Orange shirt.

There were lots of other dealers and helpers that I did not get pictures of. Thank you Laurie I enjoyed getting to know you. Thanks Ron for driving us to the restaurant. Ki's son Tyson did lots of heavy lifting, and her husband Kerry was always a joy to visit with. I'm sure there are more. Lots goes into an event like this and Ki has surrounded herself with a quality team. Can't wait till next year.

Happening in harmony with the Bonanza were lots of Magazine meetings for the upcoming Flea Market Style Magazine.

I was lucky enough to tag along, as a fly on the wall, for a few of these gatherings, and I have to tell you. This is going to be an awsome publication!

Above, an impromptu magazine discussion happens at Kathie's house

Below, Matthew Mead, Jenny Mead, and Heather Bullard discuss the magazine over dinner.

The Projects

Since returning from the Bonanza my mind has been spinning with all the great projects I saw. I can't wait to try some of these. Hope you enjoy these projects, and Yes I have permission to share them. Please visit the web sites linked for more great ideas.

I met Beth Madison of Green Cricket Salvage at the Blog Party, and loved her film earrings.

These candle holders above were made by Lori of Whistle Stop. Can you tell what they are made of? They are old gutter cages mounted on old spindles. Great project Lori, thanks for letting me share it.

The Shops of Carver put together these wonderful junk journals Designed by Liana Dresselhaus. I'm sure you'll be seeing these in more detail in the future. These were given away in the early bird bags and were also available for purchase.

See those wonderful pumpkins. That's another Project for you. I'm working on making some for myself for some Fall Displays at my mall spaces. They were made by Sara Smith of Seasons in Carver. The stem is a branch and look at those cute springs coming out near the stems. Decopage Glue, here I come.

There is so much more for me to share and you can read all about it on My Blog , that I will be continuing to update for several more days about my Trip to the Junk Bonanza.
