One of the things Roger and I like to do is Home Improvement projects. We've been in our home for 18 years and it has needed a few improvements in recent years. I hope you enjoy the before and after pictures.

Kitchen

The before picture is on the far left. This project took 3 months start to finish. Prior to starting the major part of the renovation, I laid a new ceramic tile floor. About 9 mos later we started with the major renovation. First I painted all the cabinets with an antique glazing technique. Then we removed the moldings and replaced them with more updated moldings. We replaced the appliances and countertop. And the last thing I did was install the Tile Backsplash. We did all the work ourselves.

Bathroom

These are before and a after pictures of my dressing area The picture on the left is before, and the picture in the middle is the mid- way point, and the picture on the right is the finished product. We removed the wall paper and textured and painted. Then we took down the mirrors, had them cut down and trimmed them out with decorative trim. We tiled over the old Fake Formica Marble counter tops with Granite tiles, and lastly painted the cabinets and changed out the hardware.

Guest Bathroom

The before of the Guest Bathroom shows the dated 80's foil wall paper, with Chocolate Brown Cabinets and old faux marble formica on the counter tops. To update, we had new wall paper put up, and I painted the cabinets changed the knobs, Put Porcelain Tile on the counter top and added a decorative backsplash. As well as cutting the mirror down and adding a trimmed out frame around it, as we had done in our bathroom.

Detached Garage

In 1997 we started building the detached garage. The only part of this project we contracted out was the foundation and driveway, and the bricks. Roger did the rest all by himself, With a little help from Margo. A year before Roger and Margo's Uncle, David had enclosed our existing Garage Which you can see here as the side entrance on the right of the picture.

With the skills I learned doing tile floors, I decided to cover an old, unattractive table, with a free form mosiac.

Here are some pictures of us during our projects.
