Margo's Quilts Page

Welcome to Margo's Quilts Page

These are a few of my favorite quilts

This is my current piecing project It is based on the quilt on the right. Mine is on the left.

As you can see I have a lot left to do on it. I'm going to call it "every which way"

This project is now fully pieced, layered and is on the rack, being quilted-slowly

This quilt was finished in 2002 For Alex for Christmas.

I had this quilt "quilted" on a machine by a friend, you can see the pattern that was stitched in on the back. The contrast between the red thread and the black backing is striking. She also stitched in, his name and the date.

These are a few of the books I've used in my quiltmaking

This is the quilt I learned on. Each week we were assigned a different block. It taught us different techniques for making different types of quilt blocks.

This quilt was made for my Mother It is the first quilt I finished, 1992.

This is a wall quilt, made to resemble a Christmas wreath, made with the Log Cabin blocks in shades of light and dark.

This is my first and only applique quilt. Notice the Dalmatian and Greyhound in the design. These represent the two dogs I had at the time this was made.

This is a crib sized quilt, made in Honor of our Dog Toby. It hung in my son's room when he was a baby

This quilt was part of an internet swap. I signed up for the colors I wanted to do. I had to make 12 identical 9-patch blocks with solids and prints in the "color of the month" then send them to 11 people on my list. In turn, they would each send me a block with their choice of fabics in the asssigned color. After I had received all my blocks I added solids with triangle corners to expand the quilt. I didn't realize at the time that I would end up with this Star/Lattace design. I really like this quilt. Some of the blocks came from as far away as New Zealand and Australia.

This quilt project was finished in 2001. I had been wanting to do a two color quilt for some time and took this project on in 1999. It took me 2 years to finally finish it.
