Hanging Book Holder-Margo

To make this book holder I basically screwed 2 old gate hinges to a block of wood, about 1" thick and the size of the book. Used some glue to freeze the hinges in an L shape, and slipped the book inside. Then put a hanger on the back wood. I hung the whole thing inside a double frame that I made by screwing one wooden fram on top of another. The wooden block is not visible because of the thickness of the frames that I put it all inside.

I have a new favorite book

This year I'm allowing myself 1 new book per month and March's book is called "Recycled Home" by Sally Bailey. I'm usually wary about purchasing a book sight unseen, but I stepped out of my comfort zone on this one. It is a minimalist approach to Junk Decorating. The authors are English and have a store and home in England where most of the photos were taken. You can truly judge a book by it's cover in this instance. They use lots of whites and creams in this book as well as lots and lots of re-purposing. Most of the walls and backdrops are left industrial and weathered, and most of the decor is found objects, which makes this book right up my alley. It leans more to the industrial side of junk decorating than cottage, and is definitely not prim. The Authors also have another book "Restoration Home" I have been informed that they are the SAME book, page per page.

Rubber Stamp holder, bud vase, note holder-by Margo

I simpy took old spice bottles and snapped them into an old metal rubber stamp holder. For some of them I added some water and slipped in a daisy. For others, I put in those music clips for marching bands, You could tuck in some cute flash cards, Photo's or notes
